Recessionwire, a website featuring news, advice, perspective and humor about the recession and recovery, is seeking a marketing/social media intern to help increase brand awareness, drive traffic and expand a loyal user base.

This position involves daily outreach to relevant blogs; conversation in the Twitter community; use of additional social media tools and viral strategies; and on-site story promotion.

The ideal intern will bring a keen sense of effective social media tactics and propose new strategies in addition to carrying out assigned tasks. Commitment is approximately 10 hours per week and interns are expected to work remotely. This is an unpaid position. Candidates with demonstrated marketing experience will be considered, with startup or media-industry experience a plus.

Recessionwire launched February 2009 and has been featured in the The New York Times, CNN, Business Week and many others. Please send resume and clips to contact@recessionwire.com.
