Cummins Engine announced the demise of 400 employees on Monday due to “decreased demand”… GM will eliminate 354 people from its plant in Luton, England as the company restructures… Touchstone Wireless Repair and Logistics will lay off 200 workers in Fort Worth, Texas early next year… AAA laid off 150 employees in three states… The City Council of Fresno, Calif. plans to eliminate 125 employees… Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel in Las Vegas anticipates closing all 365 rooms and cutting 100 jobs… Skidmore College will cut 70 staffers by February… Scandinavian air travel company SAS AB plans to lay off up to 60 full-time pilots… Semperian LLC will cut 45 members of its workforce by the end of this month… Rite-Hite Products Corp. will release its remaining 36 employees in Memphis, Tenn… Oshkosh, Wis. is debating laying off up to 35 members of the full-time teaching staff in order to compensate for budget cuts… GTECH Corp. laid off 31 Rhode Island workers in a “realignment of resources.”
