LM Glasfiber cut 900 workers from its plans in Spain and Denmark… Nokia Corp. slashed 330 employees from research and development units in Finland and Denmark as part of an ongoing cost-cutting venture… Florida-based One Source Landscape & Golf Services will lay off 253 gardeners after Busch Gardens amusement park canceled their long-time contract… U.K. digging company JCB eliminated 196 workers due to low demand… A CNH plant in Nebraska that produces farm equipment cut 128 jobs… Colton Cement Plant laid off 94 workers… Samaritan Healthcare of Washington is set to eliminate 45 employees in order to invest in state-of-the-art equipment to provide better patient care… Whirlpool Corp. reduced its workforce by 33 jobs… University of the South Pacific handed out 28 pink slips to dining hall workers to help curb “losses”… The College of William and Mary announced the layoffs of 12 staffers in order to compensate for a budget shortfall… AOL/Time Warner’s Australian social networking site Bebo will be laying off an undisclosed number of staff members… Partner Communications Ltd. expects some “streamlining” after hiring McKinsey & Co. as consultants.
