Sun Microsystems will likely lay off 3,000 employees in the interim of its acquisition by Oracle… The New York Times plans to cut 100 newsroom jobs by the end of the year… Kuhn North America is laying off 40 employees in its second round of layoffs this year… Montgomery County Administrator Deborah Feldman proposes 30 layoffs in the county commission departments… Hubbard City lays off 4 police dispatchers… California-based Slipgate Ironworks is laying off an undeclared number of employees… Pennsylvania state Governor Ed Rendell may make an announcement concerning another round of layoffs by the end of this week.
