Some submissons to the Recession Expression contest being held by Brickfish.
Still jobless? (Or just want more cash?) You still have 10 days to enter the Recession Expression photo competition being held by Brickfish, a social marketing firm. Upload a picture that reflects how the recession has hit your community, and you could win the $500 grand prize, or other $250 and $100 awards. Most of the photos seem unrelated to the downturn—guy walking on beach with feel-good caption, a view of the Golden Gate bridge with feel-good caption—so it’s worth, ahem, a shot. Best of all, it shouldn’t count against unemployment benefits.
Meanwhile, Office Depot is trying to cement its brand with small business owners with its Adopt a Small Business contest. Submit a two-minute video on smart things your company is doing to survive (and how, of course, Office Depot products are helping) and you could be one of 500 chosen to get a $1,500 gift certificate plus tech support, printing, shipping and copying services for a year. That contest ends on July 31, so if you’re not doing something urgent—like, oh, keeping your business afloat—this could a good time to break out the Flip.
