In reference to the Nigerian scammers targeting the unemployed… Something similar to this happened to me as well. I replied to a simple “general labor/mover needed” post hoping to get some quick under the table supplemental cash while collecting unemployment. Here was the scammer email I received in reply (note: I did NOT fall for this! ha!):

How are you doing?It’s really nice to hear back from you quickly,it shows your effectiveness and i think I’m going to be satisfied if i let you handle the moving,I’m looking for a good and honest person to help with the packing and moving of the listed items from my old to new apt within the area.
2- Three Sitter Couches
1- center Table
1- 21 inches plasma
2- Table Lamps
1- Rug (90 lbs)
I’m willing to pay $500 for moving this items within 20-30 minutes (one or two guys,no stair case or elevator),i think this is a reasonable price since you already have the list of items I’m moving and also the distance,it shouldn’t take more than 2-3 hours to have this items moved,I’m presently in Philippines for contract so i have made a perfect arrangement as advised by my lawyer,the moving payment is to be arranged by my client in states who owes me,though my client owes me more than $500 which i have agreed to pay you for the moving arrangement but there’s nothing to worry about cause you will only be deducting $500 and have the remaining funds wired to the travel agent responsible for my flight here in Philippines,via western union money transfer or money gram.
