California’s Sierra Pacific Industries sawmill lays off 150 workers as part of a series of mill closures… Wells Fargo & Co. cuts 100 positions in Florida’s former Wachovia Corp… Gentex Corp. has let go of another 28 employees… The Democrat Gazette, Arkansas’ largest daily newspaper, has laid off 16 employees… In another round of layoffs, Eaton Corp. temporarily lays off 15 employees.

More layoff were announced Monday. Economists say U.S. workers lost jobs at a devastating rate again in April, according to MarketWatch. Unfortunately, many of those jobs are in the finance industry. The most recent layoff announcements are at Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC), Sovereign Bancorp and Quest Capital.
