Screwed: 1,200 at 3M

The Minnesota-based 3M cuts 1,200 employees, 1.5 percent of its workforce, in another round of layoffs… Forbes media lays off another 50 employees… Michigan-based Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. gives another 49 workers the axe… Virginia’s VCU Health System cuts 30 positions instead of the promised 300… Biopharmaceutical company Genaera Corp. will cut 80 percent of its workforce by May 1st… Cessna Aircraft Co. warns of another round of layoffs in addition to the 4,600 let go since last November.

  1. Working for large corporations may become less attractive in the future as more folks learn to become more self reliant through creating their own business, learning a useful trade, use of barter and community groups, etc. Our site provides resources for those kinds of people.
