Agilent Technologies Inc. plans to lay of 2,700 workers… Safilo, a major sunglass manufacturer, has shut down an Italian plant, laying off 1,250 employees… Boeing Inc. gives 900 employees the axe in another round of layoffs… The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation will eliminate 800 positions… Playboy Enterprises Inc. is to close its New York City offices, laying off 100 employees… 100 employees are laid off on the business side of The New York Times… Constellation Brands Inc. is cutting its workforce by 5 percent.

    …unless they get some American=style bailout in the UK.
