We don’t know where this one started, but there are already a few websites using it, including Recession Hacking and Recession Hacks. Without realizing it, you’re probably looking for recession hacks every day.

Example: The free haircut you got at the beauty school was such recession hack.

  1. As far as i am aware recession hacking started as a response to the current climate. I searched the phrase when i started the site and no-one was using the word it. Joshua Klein has been collecting stories of people hacking their work environment for some time now – using the systems of an organization to do things they were never meant to do. Understanding a system and how it works is the first step in hacking. Then the hacker manipulates the system to do something that it wasn’t originally intended to do. Creative thinkers do this. Strategists and innovators do this. If we get good at it we can make the economy do whatever we want it to do.
