Attention employment-challenged workers: Your workspace options have just been reduced. With its fiscal first-quarter earnings today, Starbucks announced that it would be cutting 6,700 jobs (the other day, we reported the reports out that the tally would be closer to 1,000), and 300 stores will close. This means, fewer places for non-staffers to lay their laptops, and more competition for café table-top space.
What’s more, everyman comedians will have to find a replacement line for, “Well, maybe I’ll just go get a job at Starbucks.”
